What is Fenugreek? An Inexpensive Nutritional Must Have
/Ya’ll the other day my chest started tightening up and it was becoming difficult…in fact PAINFULl to breath! My first thought was “Lord, please don’t let me have the Rona!”
Goodnews! I didn’t have the Rona, but I definitely was feeling the effects of an anxiety attack!
The shortness of breath, tightness of the chest, and rapid heart rate were all clear signs that an old enemy was paying me a visit.
I first met Anxiety in 2019. Work and life were overwhelming. I just started R.O.Y.A.L. Dancers, my finances were in disarray, and I was dealing with the emotional pain from the manipulation and infidelity of my ex.
I felt like the raging sea. I prayed and tried to cope with my emotions, but my body was not responding to the stress very well. While I was in the middle of teaching a small group lesson in the learning center, I started gasping for breath as my heart pounded wildly inside my chest! I mustered up the strength to instruct my students to return to their general education teacher. Then, through a foggy lens, I slowly made my way to the front office, laid on my V.P’s floor, and was escorted by the ambulance to the hospital! This was as dramatic as it sounds.
While my recent anxiety attack was not as dramatic, it left my chest feeling very sore. My doctor recommended that I take ibuprofen for the pain, but I hated this idea because these types of drugs have a negative impact on the liver. After sharing this information with my housemate-bestie, she recommended that I try some fenugreek seeds!
Fenugreek is a native Mediterranean herb. It is packed with nutrients and a ton of great health benefits! Check out this pinterest post from style craze.com to learn more.
My housemate-bestie was already refrigerating some soaked Fenugreek seeds in water. All l I had to do was pour some of the nutrient rich water into my cup and drink of its goodness. I did just that and within about 30 minutes my chest pain went away!
Fenugreek seeds are very inexpensive and can be purchased in bulk at your local Sprouts Market for 38 cents per pound! That’s a pretty inexpensive way to take care of our R.O.Y.A.L selves.
It can easily be added to your everyday diet. Soak 1 tablespoon of fenugreek seeds in 2 glasses of water overnight! Filter the seeds from the water. Then drink up! Oh, and you can eat the soaked seeds! It’s an easy way to love our R.O.Y.A.L selves, especially when we are dealing with stress.
